As a leading 3D art studio for virtual and augmented reality we at Canopy Creative are excited to see the advancements in #VR technology being utilized in the world of sports entertainment. Recently, Meta, the official headset of the #NBA, announced an expansion of its partnership with the league and the WNBA, offering more than 50 live VR games on its platform in the coming season.
This partnership is a major step forward in the world of sports and entertainment, as it allows fans to engage and interact with their favorite teams in a whole new way. Meta Quest users will now have access to a package of 50 live NBA games, including five immersive 180-degree monoscopic VR games on Xtadium and Meta Horizon Worlds. Additionally, the platform will also offer a selection of WNBA, NBA G League, and NBA 2K League games throughout the season.
But it's not just about watching live games in VR, Meta Quest also offers a variety of other content for fans to enjoy. On Meta Horizon Worlds, users can access game highlights, recaps, and archival content, as well as visit the dedicated NBA Arena where they can watch content with friends, compete in interactive minigames, and show support for their favorite teams. Meta has also announced that in the future, fans will be able to access even more content through an NBA League Pass subscription.
The partnership between Meta and the NBA doesn't stop there. Meta has also announced that it will be launching NBA-licensed apparel in the Meta Avatar Store in the coming weeks. Sports enthusiasts will be able to purchase their favorite NBA or WNBA team apparel for their avatar, which they can showcase on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Meta Quest.
This is an exciting time for sports fans as the immersive VR technology offered by Meta Quest allows for a more social and immersive experience.
At Canopy Creative, we are always eager to see how technology can enhance the entertainment industry, and this partnership between Meta and the NBA is a prime example of how virtual reality can revolutionize the way we consume sports content. We look forward to seeing what other innovative ways Meta will bring the sports experience to fans in the future.
